Practical Parenting Magazine!

18/11/2013

If you're having a browse through the magazines while waiting at the supermarket check out this month, you might see me!

Alice Makes Music is being featured in the November issue of Practical Parenting magazine, apparently I'm a Mumpreneur!

My scanner is being uncooperative so I'll put a nicely scanned version up later but here is the excited iphone snap (while still sitting in my car in the car park of the supermarket, eager). I wasn't very cool or nonchalant while buying my copy of the mag, I think the lady at the check out was a little overwhelmed with my bouncing around. She did jump on the wave excitement with me though (very generous of her) and we had a few 'Hoorays' together.

Fantastic new music from Stinky Picnic!

30/11/2012

My little friend Indigo and her dad, Mat, have started their own band, Stinky Picnic, and have released their debut album, 'Cockles'. I love it!

You might remember 3 year old Indi (now 4) from the film clip that she made with her dad for my song Angus and the Dinosaurs. Their wonderful creativity doesn't stop there and they've gone on to make their own album of gorgeous songs sung by Indigo and supported with back up vocals and instruments by her musician dad.

I do really love the song, 'Mama' which has the lyrics 'I love you so much mama, I love you so much' sung over and over. Ellie the Elephant parts one and two are also very cute, a story all about Ellie's Elephant adventures. Indigo really impresses me with her singing on 'Molly Malone'.

It may have been created by a 3 year old but don't underestimate this album. Indigo's wonderful, expressive voice and funny little rhymes are skillfully supported by dad's music so that the charm of Indigo's songs shine though. It really is a very listenable album.

At 'Name your own price' this album is really worth a download. Put it on repeat a few times and it will win you over!
